I will be installing ceramic floor tile in our kitchen. Any suggestions on quality of ceramic tiles. The types available from the local home centers are the lowest in cost.Anyone have any bad experiences or any suggestions will be appreiated. Thanks

I purchased beautiful 12" white w/touch of grey tiles from REVY....I was glad to be hanging around there like a fly day after day because they blew some discontinued stock out for 99 cents/tile. Same tile was $2.49/tile 2 weeks prior.
As I said, they look great and I had enough to do my kitchen and even a basement bathroom when I get to it.
Hey, save money...why not?

Hey M.,
Home Depot and Other homecenters are fine to get tiles at as a matter of fact some of their tiles are made for them by major tile manufacturers. (They may be in a white box but, they are made by the likes of Dal Tile, Marazzi, US Ceramics, and other companies). You may have to buy some extras and check them for chipped corners, but they work fine.

I found a tile style I liked at Home Depot, then I checked out the manufacturer online (write down the manufacturer's name from the box or in store display tag, as well as the tile style name and number, this will help you locate it.) - turns out that I picked a good grade of tile for heavy traffic areas! (it was DalTile, whick lists ratings, etc. for their tiles.)
I also found out that a local home builder is using the same tile for all of their tile entryways/kitchens/baths, and it's a reputable hi-end builder.
