A week ago I had some glazed ceramic tile laid
on my entry hall and kitchen floors. It looks
great, but the grout's the wrong color.

I bought the materials at Home Depot: the grout
is Custom Building Products Polyblend sanded
grout and is supposed to be dark tan. However,
the grout looks chalky-white. But hen it's wet,
it looks the right color of tan. Scrubbing
didn't help. I tried wiping with vinegar on a
sample section, which didn't help either. As
soon as water or vinegar dries, the grout looks
white again.

Is there a solution for this, or do I have to
paint my grout???

try cleaning youor grout with a mixture of water and muratic acid....1 cup of acid to 1 pail of water...i had the same problem when i installed satillo tile in front entrance...and i washed it with muratic acid and water...then rinced...and it's all gone...good luck

Hey, wait, do not use muriatic!

Go to a full line tile supply store and get some sulfamic acid crystals. Follow the directions.
