We are retiling our bathroom. We have pulled up everything that was previously there, mosaic tile, cement, wire mesh, paper....Now all that is there is the wood floor. We are going to install ceramic tile and we already bought the cement boards. Is there anything else we need to put down before the boards? Also what is the best size tile to use for a bathroom? We were going to get the 1 foot by 1 foot, but are wondering if that would be too large. Thanks!

Hi Diana,
Spread thin set mortar on the floor with a notched trowel to bed the cement board in. Then nail it every 6 inches with galvanized roofing nails. Then you have to tape the joints. Check the directions for the backerboard.
12 X 12 tiles are not too large. They are very popular for bathrooms these days.
