I would like to add a layer of concrete/gravel to my existing front entrance walk & porch slab. I want to give it that "small stone" look. Can someone steer me in the right direction please? Thank you.

The effect is called "exposed aggregate". Recently I posted a related response http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?threadid=51714 If you intend to hand seed I recommend that you test yourself. Ordering exposed aggregate mix is easier.
