Does anyone know if there is any computer software for generating different tile layouts for any given floorplan? thanks for the forum!

There are many software applications for this. but they are very pricey for what they do. One company is Aya Associates in Miami,FL (you will have to search for them there or on the web I do not have the address or phone) Please know that it is geared more towards estimating, etc. If you want to plug in patterns over a floor layout any simple CAD program should do that with background keys, etc.
