Can anyone give me some info on cork tiles as flooring. I'm considering putting them in my kitchen. I would like to know about their durability, longivity, price as compared to wood/tile flooring. Please share pros and cons of this type of flooring.
Thanks!!!

I just saw cork tile's for the first time at a tile place and they looked beautiful.... But I don't know anything more than what the tile center told me. Supposedly have been used in England for a while now, and in High Traffic areas too. I can't remember how much they were.

Hi Vickie,
I am predominately a ceramic tile and marble man, and know very little about Cork (other than its a county in Ireland and it comes from oak tree's in Portugal) You can get more info on the web at two different companies Expanko in West Chester,PA and Duro-Design in Quebec,Canada.

I hope this helps you out a little. Apparently Falcon is correct, they use it in Europe alot. It is varnished with wood floor coatings and really stands the test of time.
