I have a steel/wood core Therma-Tru door which the builder installed. While installing my storm door, I noticed how uneven the door frame was. The door seems to work just fine, however I notice when the door heats up during the day from the sun, the top of the door on the handle side tends to warp away from the jam and sticks out almost 1/2 inch. When the sun goes down, you sometimes can hear loud noises while the metal contracts back down and the door now fits better into the frame. I live in the N/E so the temperature is moderate. Can this cause a problem? How can it be fixed?

How old is this door? I'm guessing that if you know that it is a Therma-Tru, and who installed it, it can't be very old. Contact the builder and see if it is still under warranty. Sounds to me like you probably have a defective door. I have two metal doors on the west side of my house (one Stanley, and one Premdor). They have gone through 50 to 60 degree temp. changes (many times, I might add) in 12 hours, and I don't have a problem like yours.
