I need help in gaining information on what materials are needed, where I can get them etc. My aluminum sided 7 year old home has polystyrene exterior entry door trim and header(header is cracked). I want to replace these with wood so I can actually attach a storm door. No one will install a storm door with the present configuration.
I have had zero luck finding how to information and materials to do this. I know I need some sort of brick molding etc. Question is are there sources for different sizes and styles? What about the decroative door header?
Any and all info is appreciated.

brick mold is a basic door trim but not necessarily the end all
i have seen real wood simulated columns and headers but these are mostly special order items try your local lowes or someplace they normally have someone
also really any door casing could be used granted exterior is usually thicker than interior but i have seen some thick interior stuff just be sure to prime it on ALL sides if using outside
PS if you go with regular "brickmold" beware of the finger jointed stuff it will eventually come apart -go for solid wood stuff its better
hope this helps-----josh
