I am thinking about moving the entrance wall in my master bedroom since the door when opened sticks out into the ensuite door opening.(my builder screwed up)
This will leave areas with no carpet(where the wall is)
The rennovation people have suggested patching the carpet in this area.
I have my doubts about patches.
Will a patch just after the doorway stand up over time?
Also will the seams of the patch be noticeable?
I know I have seams in my carpet now, but is a seam in a straight line joining two carpets together, the same as a patch?
I think that since it is a new house, only 18 months old it should be treated like one.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Ron

Depends on who is doing the seaming! It is called a saddle seam, where you have 2 seams close together in a doorway. I could do it and you would never know. It takes skill. How about this... Let them do what ever they want, but if you don't like the results, make them replace it. They screwed up right? Give them a chance, but if they screw up there one chance, have it totally replaced. Remember all seams should be invisible!! Even the other seams in your house.
