Recently bought my first house and am planning a vegetable garden. I live in zone 6 (NW New Jersey). I understand that I will be adding organic matter to my already loamy soil - but I would like to know just how much? I am planning a 10X12 area - and like I said - I have pretty good soil that dosn't need too much help. It tends to be a tad poor on the drainage side (more clay than sand).I did start composting last summer and plan on adding that - but what other elements should I add to my garden and at what ratio? Thanks in advance for any help!
