I am considering changing the color of my oak kitchen cabinets from Dark Walnut to a Honey Oak color. Any suggestions on removing the dark stain &/or lightening the dark color would be appreciated.

If you have done it in the past I sure would like to get your tips and hear about the results.

Dolby:

The finish must be removed first. Then bleach the cabinets using a two part bleach for wood, available at most home centers.

I would suggest trying a door or drawer front first, as a trial piece.

This can be a long term project, and messy. Gather your enthusiasm in a bunch before you start.
