When wrapping wallpaper around outside corners, is there some way to keep the pattern aligned, assuming the outside corner is not plumb?

Wrap the wallcovering around the corner as tightly as possible and cut-off all the paper that comes around the corner with the exception of one-half inch. Using another full-length piece of wallcovering, attempt to match the pattern so that the full-length piece over-laps the 1/2 in. If it doesn't match, as least get as close as possible to a match. You'll need vinyl-over-vinyl adhesive in order for the over-lapped covering to adhere to the 1/2 in. You can also aid this over-lap with a clear cornerguard or a wooden corner stained/painted the same as your trim.
