After an unusual downpour here in so. cal., I noticed water stain on the inside ledge of some of my sliding windows. How do I fix this?

In teh bottom track of your window frame (where the sashes slide), there are weep holes. Make sure they are cleaned out so the water can weep out to the outside of the frame, rather than back up to the inside of the house.
