Need to know more info. Is this a masonry or a factory-built fireplace? How wide is the inner diameter of your flue pipe? How many elbows are there going to be in the pipe run to make it to the other side of the basement?
If this is a factory built fireplace then the installation instructions should have a vent chart listed in them.

I havn't bought it yet. I'm thinking of buying a pellet stove instead. it will have two elbows.
