Rugs, Carpets and Carpeting - Toilet over-flowed sewer waste on tile and carpet

Came home to sewage water and waste all over ceramic tile entry and edges of carpet. Paid 2 different plumbers total of over $300 to clean drain. My problem: insurance company won't pay plumbers but will only rip out padding about 2 feet from edges and then will clean my front room carpet. Carpet is only 3 years old. My deductable is 500 dollars.
Probably, that's all it will cost to do what they want to do. This is what I need to know: is this enough to sanitize my carpet and leave my home free of dangerous sewer
germs? It took me 7 water and soap and Lysol moppings to clean the bathroom and entry tile. Odor was horrible, but now I think it's the Lysol I smell. My husband's and my children's health is the main consideration. Thank you so much. Don't know where else to turn. Thank you again!

I would find a different insurance company, after you demand you get what you pay for. Of coarse, after you read you policy very carefully!!

After living in our home only a year, we found out by chance, when we tried to put some jewlery on our homeowners insurance. That our house only had "Replacement cost" as if it burned down or a tornado hit it. No other insurance for water damage, or leaks incurred during occupation. We had that changed real quick!!!We were trying to get into this house a cheap as we could, and didn't realize our mortage company that got us the insurance, lowballed it, because it was a fixer-upper. It was only insured for loan value too. Not what it was worth after we had put a years of work into it.
