My bosses son is a 16 year old who cannot drive for physical reasons, so I thought I would try and build him a go-cart. We are in the landscaping business so we have plenty of engines and parts. Are there any links you guys know about or has anyone done this and have advice?

Hello:Nosoup4you

Go-Carting is a huge hobby all across the country.
Go-Cart self assembly kits are available, with or without the engines, if you choose to build one.

Fully assembled and built, ready to drive new carts and reconditioned used carts are available also.

Check your phone books business pages. Listed there will be retail stores and local race tracks that specialize and deal strictly with go-carts for both the hobbyist and the enthusiast.

There used to be a place I would see advertising in Popular Mechanics that was out west that had stuff like this.

I think the name was "Kart world". Might want to try looking that up on the Internet.

My first motorized bike was a 4 HP Tecumseh powered mini bike that I got for 20 bucks (with a spare frame) in 1982. :). Still have the frame. I am probably going to restore it, put a new motor on it and give it my nephews one day :).

Just make a simple little cart and use a lawnmower style engine with a vertical shaft, or get a simple go cart frame, just make it work for him, like if he cant use his legs use a set of handle bars for the controls, use one cable for throttle and one for brake. af you have to, add an extension near the bottom linkage so that it can turn faster with less movement
