Hi:keith j
Excellent question. When you find the answer to this question, let me know. Many people have the same problem with their dryers. Including me!...:(
For some unknown reason, some machines are prone to cause this problem. Could be a design flaw but how and why remain unanswered.
I would not suggest you replace the lint filter because it would be a total waste of money and time. I know...trust me, I already did that with no benefit found.
What I can tell you is to clean the inside cabinet of the machine every 2 years. Don't be surprised to find lots of lint in and around the blowers fan cage. Also clean out the exhaust vent tube while your at it.
Cleaning will drastically reduce the chances of a fire inside the cabinet. Cleaning out the fan cage area and the vent exhaust tubing will reduce the restriction of air discharge. All of this is a plus for safety and efficiency.

The only time I have seen a lot of lint going out the vent hose was on a dryer with a split seam on the lint trap housing. The air and the lint are going to take the path of least resistance, the open seam, not the lint screen.
