I have a solid Mahogany exterior door. What is the best way to prepare this door to stand up to outside elements. It hasn't been stained or anything. I would appreciate any advise.

First off, you might get a 'better' answer if you also post this in the Painting forum.
Will this door be exposed to direct sunlight? If so, after you stain it, coat it with an exterior finish (like Varithane or Deft) that resists or blocks UV rays. Also look for a stain that won't fade due to UV ray exposure. And whatever finish you put on it, cover ALL of the surfaces thoroughly. A door has 6 surfaces. Interior and exterior faces, top, bottom, and left and right edges. Seal them ALL!
