The distance from the inside edge of the nailing fin is 4 5/8in. So if I was to nail the nailing fin directly to the framing, with my framing being 2x4 (3 1/2in.), that would leave me with 1 1/8in. inside of the framing. Drywall doesn't come in that size. That makes mounting it directly to the frame infesable. thanks anyway!

So add some strips of 5/8" plywood (3" wide or so) to the outside of the framing and mount the window to that. If I remember your original post correctly, you were thinking about mounting the window to some foam insulation. You don't want to attach it to anything as soft as foam insulation that can be crushed with 150# of pressure. (If you step on it and it leaves a foot print, IT'S TOO SOFT!)
