I want to install some 3" crown moulding around my ceiling at a 45 degree angle to the wall. I need to know what blade angle setting and miter angle I need to get both inside and outside corner (90 deg.) cuts and inside 45 degree corner cuts. Again, I want to have the moulding at a 45 degree angle to the wall. I know what angles to set to make a typical picture frame setup but that doesn't work for wall crown mouldings. I have a radial arm saw, NOT a table saw, if that makes a difference. Is there a chart for various angles of compound miter cuts? Thanks in advance for your assistance. JerryGee

Don't get side tracked with the angles of the molding.
Just set the molding on the saw the way it sets on the wall and cut your angle.
You may have to build a jig to hold the piece in place while cutting but no big deal.

"Thank you" to Eddie...... I tried the hold-it-as-it-mounts and just cut away but that became very difficult with both inside and outside corners, and even worse if you have something other than 90 degree corners... I found a downloadable shareware program at woodmagazine.com that you enter your demensions and the program gives you the "miter" and "bevel" angles. It works GREAT!!! All you need to do is make sample cut pieces to keep your mind straight when you're at the saw cutting the actual molding. Thanks again...... JerryGee
