Looking for advice!

I have a room in my 1920's house in the basement approx 10' - 12', Plumbing is roughed in, Toilet, Central Floor Drain, Hot & Cold. Room is currently gutted except for some Electric that must be moved. PS - I spent 4 years as a drywall contractor.

Now the problem. The Central Floor Drain is basically an overflow or utility drain. The poured concrete in the room all slopes down to the utility drain about 4" difference from high to low spots in the room. I want to put a bathroom in, and the plumbing is mostly in place (was a laundry room). 1) Since there is a trap under the concrete is it possible / advisable to use the 4" master drain for a shower drain? 2) Can I use the concrete leveling products to level this floor?

Thank you!

The plumbing problem: either search old messages in the Plumbing and Basement forums or post to the plumbing forum, and possibly Plumber2000 will reply. My guess is, yes, with an additional vent. You have the right idea for leveling the floor (roughen the slab plus use a bonding agent for the best results). One brand & instructions: http://www.ardex.com
