View Full Version : adding to styrofoam

The 2nd floor of my 100 yr old summer cottage is still in the rustic unfinished state. Probably 20 years ago, the former owner wedged 2 in. thick extruded styrofoam boards between all the studs and rafters right up against the sheathing and caulked it in (though the caulk is now cracked). I'd like to add more insulation on the inside of the styrofoam and put up drywall. Is there a way to do this that won't cause problems later, particularly in the ceiling which is unvented?
