We've just moved into a 36 year old house and have discovered hardwood floors under our carpets. Thrilled by our discovery, we immediately began pulling up our carpet. Now we are clueless as to how to treat them. They look as though they are in very good condition. From what we can see so far there aren't any stains, scratches etc. How can we tell what they were treated with and what we need to do from here? Is it neccessary to wax and buff? We have no clue where to start.
