I had my oak floors refinished (sanded, stained, moisture cure top coat). I'd like to clean up the stair risers which are painted white and always get scuff marked from shoes (I'm sure the risers are not oak). Anybody have an good ideas on what to do - e.g. sand or strip and repaint or stain, maybe use some kind of laminate floors on the risers, etc.? Thanks for any help offered.

I would take off the old ones and go to home depot and buy new ones that all ready have been routared. They sell ones that are ready to finish.
