I need to remove ceramic tile from plasterboard and salvage the tile to replace it after doing plumbing work. Is there a way to take the tile from the surface and keep the plasterboard intact? Home was built in the early 70's

There is no good way to do it. We cut out the sheetrock, tile and all. You can salvage the tiles but not the sheetrock. Perhaps you can gain access from the other side of the wall?
