My carpet is only 1 1/2 years old, has gotten wet and now smells of mildrew. How can I get rid of the smell, and still keep the carpet?

If the carpet got wet and was not dried out along with the padding, mold will grow! (The black death mold too) There is still a moisture problem. mold and mildew don't grow in a dry enviroment. There must be moisture for it to live.

Replacement is the only way to fully get rid of the mold & mildew once it get going. It's too late, the moisture problem should have been addressed before it got this far....SORRY.

There are many websites that will teach you about MOLD.
