My husband and I recently purchased a 25 year old log home that needs some TLC. I have cleaned some of the interior logs with Murphy's and would like to seal them, especially the log walls in the kitchen. I've tried applying McCloskey's satin varnish and it finishes with quite a shine. I would really love to find a wood sealer/finish that would protect the log walls and that would finish dull. Please make suggestions. Thanks
George

Cheri:
Most manufacturers make a flat varnish, but it's not usually readily available. Check with your dealer and see if he can supply the same brand in a flat finish. He'll probably have to order it in (if available at all) and you'll probably have to buy a case (4 gallons) when he does.
