Hi:epavard
You pose a difficult question my friend. I doubt the timer was installed or wired incorrectly by you. However, I also doubt the new timer is defective.
My asumption is this dryer you had since it was new and this lack of a cold down recently occured. That being the case, I have to assume you did reconnect the wires correctly.
The timer does control this cool down cycle. The timer, in the cool down cycle, keeps the contact points inside it opened so no current can flow to the solenoids. The thermostat is also calling for heat at the same time but nothing happens without current from the timer.
Questions for you:
Are the clothes hot when the dryer turns off or just warm? Warm is okay.
Has the dryer recently started doing this or has it been doing this for a long time?
Are you the orginal owner?
Is the burner still on very close to the end of the drying cycle?
My thoughts go back to the timer wiring. If your not the orginal owner and the machine has been doing this since you got it, could be the previous owner once replaced the timer and it wired incorrectly. <???>
