I'm thinking about installing laminate in our small bathroom. What do I do about the toilet and pedestal sink? Do I have to add new pipes due to the difference in flooring height?
some help

Hello
I do not know haw thick the laminate will be you are planing to use. the pedestal sink should not be much of a problem. the drain pepe will slide up and down, if the water contions are to short you will need to get longer ones. Now the toilet to make sure you do not make a problem
and have a leak see if you can rais the flange up to the new hight and shim before you lay the floor and use a good wax ring. good luck

If the laminate flooring will raise your toilet to a height that prevents it from seating on the flange properly, you can buy flange extender rings that can raise the flange height an inch or two without having to remove or replace the existing flange. I would recommend using these instead of trying to just shim the old flange to the proper height. Depending on the age and materials of your plumbing, you could end up cracking the drain pipes or breaking the solvent welds by attempting to lift the flange itself -- that would be a royal, rotten, stinking mess!
Good luck!
