View Full Version : Tub ontop of tile?

I have gutted my master bathroom and would like to start tiling the floor. I would like to tile under where the tub is going to be installed. It is a standard Kohler Left Hand tub, and not a clawfoot. Can I tile the entire floor and install the Kohler tub on top? Thanks in advance.

I don't know any reason you cannot tile underneath, nor do I know why someone would want to. Seems like a waste of a bunch of tile. You might consider just installing those tiles that are going to contact the bottom of the new tub (so you have everything on the same plane), and the last row next to the tub, so you have some underlay.
