I have required a old RCA Stereo. Sometime ago the old finish was striped off and some stain has been put on. The original color is blonde, I believe, but the stain that was put on it is a medium dark color. I would like to remove the stain and get the stereo back to the original color or close to it. I know that the stereo has been sitting with the stain on it for sometime and the wood seems quite dry. What can I do to get the wood back into condition and remove to stain that is on it now.

To remove the stain, use a 2-part bleach. It's available from many home centers and most paint stores
