I am redoing my Kitchen and would like to replace my Linoleum floor with either a Pergo type or hardwood floor. The kitchen is on a concrete slap and not sure which would be best to use. I also intend to use a contractor and need to know which questions to ask when I procure the contractor and purchase the floor.
Thanks,

There is a thread running below on this subject...add your inquiry and it will rise to the top, so to speak *G*

Some of your questions are answered there and some remain....
From my research, laminate would be a better choice over concrete and vinyl or lino if you leave the original surface intact...
We have a test panel running in our kitchen at the corner where the dishwasher is on one side and the cooktop is on the other...our main food prep area....
We are testing Wilsonart products because I found the color, grain and quality to fit well with our existing kitchen...
So far so good...I'm still concerned about water, juice or sauce spills....
The contractors here can offer some good advice about choosing one of their own..*G*...as a homeowner, I would be concerened about performance, durability and the style melding with the existing room...
Laminate floors can be a DIY project for most homeowners with average skills....If you have the skills and tools to build a workshop cabinet in the garage, you can install your own laminate floor...
Personally, I have gotten my product referrals from friends and business collegues.
You have many of the same questions we do and I hope they'll be answered here.....
Good luck with your project!
