I currently own a single home with a walk out finished basement. The basement walls are cinder block with a plastic wrap (I guess used as a moisture barrier) and then I have a Kraft Faced R-13 insulation in the finished walls.
PROBLEM: The heater room portion of my basement is not insulated. Basically, It's the bare cinder block wall painted with a moisture-preventer paint. The area(room) is cold.
QUESTION: I'd like to insulate this wall at a minimal cost and with something other than a thick insulation. Any suggestions?
I was recently in a new home and notice in their basement heater area the exterior wall was covered in this white wrap that would remind you of a sleeping blanket. It covered the whole heater room wall and wash room. Does anyone know what this is? and where I can purchase this material?
