Hi... We've got a 8x14' painted brick wall surrounding a 5x5 natural brick fireplace. The paint looks crummy next to the natural brick. I first considered cutting thin brick face slabs and adhering them to the painted bricks, but my wife likes stone better. Any thoughts on (1) a source of stone that would be thin enough to adhere to the wall without additional ledge support and (2) what type of adhesive would adequately bond new stone or brick to thed old paintede brick? I could sand the painted brick face with a belt sander if that would enhance adhesion. Any other ideas for this project would be welcome. -rmac
