I am in the process of remodeling my kitchen. I have tile on my wall. What is the best way to remove it?

Thanks,

George

Without removing the wall too?? tall order...*G*

What kind of walls do you have in the room...lath and plaster, sheetrock, etc...?

Does the tile field stick up a bit (more than its thickness ...1/4-3/8") from the wall?

Do you plan to install new tile in the same area...?

As a DIYer I've only done complete demolition down to the studs...a lot more satisfying..*G*

Hopefully, an expert can give you a precise answer but I've had pretty good luck using a small masonry chisel to crack the grout and then using a wider chisel to pop the tiles loose from the edge...

Don't know if that'll work if they stuck 'em right to the sheetrock though...

In another forum here, a tile guy told me they do stuff like that these days...counter backsplashes and such...

Good luck with your project..
