I read the post that it is better not to put ceramic tiles over vinyl floors. Unfortuately, the contractor who did my bathroom and kitchen tiles did just that. It has only been two weeks and the grout is cracking all over. The contractor is refusing to repair it because he said it's okay to do that and has been paid in full, I don't want to go to court either. How do I best correct this problem with out ripping up the floor and re-doing it. Can I use a flexible caulk?

If you can not get this contractor to fix this problem and do not take any legal action at least report him to the Better Business Bureau. This kind of thing gives all contractors a black eye.
Short of tearing up the tile and starting over I really do not have any answers. Maybe some of the others can help.

I'm sorry, Cookie, but Ray is right. There's no way to fix it without starting over.

I hate courts, but sometimes there's no other way. Use the small claims court, and it won't cost you much. There's a good chance you can settle it before it comes to trial.
