Recently purchased 2 Adirondack chairs 1-Cedar and 2nd-cypress. How do I protect them from wheather, sun, and ocean air? I would like to paint them white. Do you recommend painting? If so, what type of paint for each chair? Thank you for your help.

Any quality oil-based primer and exterior oil paint would work well for you, Sherwin Williams is my personal choice. You can also use a clear wood protectant if you would prefer natural wood, CWF (Clear Wood Finish) is what I always use. Hope it helps.
