I would like to take out my sliding shower doors and replace with a shower curtain. I have no idea where to begin. Help!

Not much to it
Take off the sliding doors, they should be on little rollers, so just lift the door, get the bottom of the door out of the track and lower the door out.
After you have both doors off take off the top rail, some are just sitting on the side rails ,and some have small screws holding them on.
The side rails will have 3 screws on each side . Remove the screws and take a utility knife with a new blade and cut out the caulking on both sides of the rail. It should come right off now.
The bottom rail is just held in place with caulk. Use the utility knife here also but put the blade in as far as it will go on both sides of the rail. Sometimes ,if the bottom rail has been on there a long time it can pop the porcelain in spots along the top of the tub. If it looks like it may do this, while your wife is not looking, get a long thin blade kitchen knife and use it to cut out under the rail.
Use a window scraper with a single blade and cut off the remaining caulk. Grout or caulk the holes in the tile left from the screws on the side walls and your good to go.

We took our doors off the tub and when we removed the caulking the finish came off our one piece fiberglass tub.
Now I can't find what to use to put the finish back on the front of the tub. Have you heard of anything?
