I have heard the correct way to tile a room {or rooms} is to start at your center lines. How do you begin if you intend to set the tile on a diagonal? Here is another twist - My living room/dining room/den is one continuous room 12'x36' in the center of the house. The kitchen is on one side, the bathroom and bedrooms are on the opposite side. I would like to "flow" the tile on a diagonal throughout the entire house without using thresholds in the doorways. If you are supposed to start in the center of the rooms, how do I accomplish this when "flowing" from room to room?
