I have recently finished the second floor of my house. Attic insulated with R-25, kraft faced bats. kraft facing toward the living area and PS channels in between all the rafters. I have icicles on both sides of the roof. One side is in the sun and the other never is. The insulation is not compressed, it extends past the joist cavity. The house is a 2 story colonial with a family room off the side. The family room does not show any form of icicle build up. Do I need more insulation or is it possible that the air channels are blocked at the soffit vents.
