A log exploded in the fireplace and I now have a million small burn holes EVERYWHERE. I have been trying to patch the larger ones. What kind of glue do you recomend using? I tried hot glue and it leaves the carpet hard. Any other suggestions or tips would also be appreciated.

If you have a big area with lots of burns, tiny patches are going to keep you working for awhile. I hope you have some extra left over carpet from the original installation.

Yes, hotmelt does get hard. Don't get it on the carpet nap, just on the backing. Carpet seam sealer(latex) is another option. Don't get it on the nap either.

I hope your not hotmelting to the pad!
