I am finishing a base ment and want to add heat vents. There are only to for the basement and I want to add about five more. There are two main ducts, one going to each outside wall. On one side there are already 6 branch ducts coming off (one for basement, 5 for main level) can I add more branch vents and still pass code?

Mickey, post this in the Heating & Cooling forum. There are many limiting factors, like how large your heating unit is and how many more ducts it would be capable of handling; the size, length, and location of your present ducts as well as the ones you are thinking about adding.
