Please can you help. I have a problem with my Worcester 240 combi-boiler. We can only have domestic hot water when the central heating is on. When gas central heating is off the boiler ignites when a tap is turner but no hot water comes through. Have you any ideas, I thought it may be the domestic water heater sensor but electricity is going through that and it appears there is no break in the sensor that is installed at present. Please have you any other ideas.Thanks.

Hi Malrobinson

If the burner does lite when a faucet is turned on, then I would have to assume the flow switch is working. I also have to assume that the burner is the same burner that heats the water which heats the house.

Why there isn't any hot water at the faucet I can't say. I think you mean the hot water the boiler is making just isn't arriving at the faucet maybe???

If the burner does turn on when the thermostat calls for heat and your getting heat, is that burner the same one as the hot water burner? Is the unit a true boiler or is it an instantaneous hot water heater?

Might be a good idea to post this question in the plumming forum or the heating and cooling fourm. Either the plummer or boiler pros may be able to help you.

Good Luck,
