Hello,

I have a brown bookcase which I'd like to match with some rosewood funiture. The color of the bookcase is lighter than the other furniture, so adding a little red would darken the color and possibly match the rest of the furniture. The bookcase is made of a chipboard with a simulated wood laminate.

Is there something like wax I can use to add the hint of red?

Thanks!

Ken:

Briewax makes a mahogany colored wax, but unless you have a distributor right in your neighborhood here's a 'down and dirty' method that will give you the same results, and may do what you want.

Buy a can of cordovan shoe polish (the paste wax kind) and have at it. If you don't like the results, use paint thinner to remove it.
