I completed building a new home in central Ohio.

We put in a bathroom and bedroom in the basement that
has been completely finished in sheet rock.

These rooms were finished without putting in insulation
between the floor of the first floor and the cieling of the
finished basement rooms.

Anyone know of a way to add insulation without completely re-finishing the cieling in the finished basement rooms?

I would like to add this insulation for normal energy consumption savings and to help deaden sound transmitted up and down from first floor/basement.

Any suggestions welcome.

Jeff, sorry I didn't respond sooner -- I missed seeing your post.

Contact an insulation contractor who blows cellulose into walls and confined spaces. He will be able to insulate the area for you by drilling small holes in the ceiling, between the joists. You will then have to patch the holes, but that will sure beat replacing the ceiling!

I will give that a try.

Any idea of what the cost should be?

Bed room is 14 x 16

Bathroom is 10 x 7.5
