How can we protect the wood floor from furniture? We cannot use carpet in our dining room-we have young children and it would be difficult to keep clean. We have tried the felt protectors, and other adhesive protectors and they come off quickly from scooting the chairs. It seems the plastic coasters would scratch the floor, just as the chairs do. Any suggestions?

I don't know what kind of felt protectors you are using, and I don't know what the bottoms of your chair legs look like. However, I have wooden chairs with felt protectors on a wooden floor in my dining room. These chairs have been scooted plenty, and the felt protectors have held fast for six years now.

Are the bottoms of your chair legs cut so that they are flat against the floor? If not, you'll need to center the felt protectors on the edge of the chair leg that contacts the floor.

Good luck.
