The unit runs thru it's cycle and heats up the house normally. At the end of that cycle is when the noise happens and the outside fan is still running.Thanks for the response.

Next time it cycles off like that set tstat to 50,your outdoor fan should stop.When system is running carefully feel the larger copper line going into your inside unit.It should feel more than warm,if it is so hot you can't keep your hand on it.This would indicate air flow problems.Let me know once you set tstat to 50 if outside fan goes off.PDF

To PDF. When the ther is turned down to 50, the fan stops running. The large pipe is pretty hot. you can hold it for 5-10 sec. I've noticed the noise usually happens when it is below freezing. Thanks.

Sorry about the delay.When comp. goes off fan should too.If I haven't mentioned before make sure filter is clean.If you can remove a panel to check indoor coil,do so.It may have a built up.Make sure all supply vents are open.Your compressor is shutting off because of an overload.Out door fan is still running.PDF
