Thre is a white ring on my table from a glass being left on it. How do I remove this white ring?

There are two solutions, one easier than the other. If the ring is recent, the easier one should work, but here are both:
1- Spread mayonaise over the ring and let it set over night. Clean in the morning with warm soapy water.
2- Make a paste of baking soda and water. Using a damp sponge, rub the ring out with this mixture. This procedure will probably dull the surface. The sheen may be restored by going over the entire table top (for uniformity) with a mild abrasive polishing compound such as Turtle Wax Polishing Compound and Scratch Remover.
