What is the best way to paint a door, by using a mini-roller or by using a brush? What kind of paint should I use?

If I don't spray I use a brush to paint doors, rollers can leave a texture or little hairs in the finish.
As far as to which paint to use depends on the existing paint, if it is oil (which most are) then you need to go back with a oil based paint or reprime with an oil primer if you want to use latex. If it is latex, the you can repaint with either. For a nicer finish and better adhesion make sure to door is clean and lightly sand with a 220 grit paper to smooth and "scuff" the surface.
