Due to a water heater leak, the paint on my basement floor peeled. I've scraped it off and wonder what kind of paint I should use to paint it. heard of necessity of using muriatic acid. Is this a must? Thanks

Muriatic acid is used for the initial prep of unpainted concrete only. If the previous coating survived all but the water heater incident, scrape the defective areas and apply the same coating.
